Service ProgramsReading With Maple Leaf Public SchoolLast year we started a reading program with Maple Leaf Public School . Members of the congregation volunteer throughout the week to sit with children in a supervised setting to strengthen the children’s reading skills. Several volunteers are needed for this program. One can volunteer as much or as a little as their time allows. A police check is needed for all those who participate in this ministry. Lunches for the ChildrenHungry children have a hard time learning, so each Sunday a group of our members prepare bagged lunches for the children of Maple Leaf Public School. Community GardenIn the spring of 2008 our church started a community garden for our neighbors residing in the condominiums next to the church property. Fourteen boxes were built and several individuals and couples started to grow their own vegetables. Due to the success of the community garden and the increase of interest, we have expanded the gardens and invite interested participants to grow their own vegetables. To apply for a garden box, download this application form and email it to us. Note: each person who is assigned a garden plot is responsible for their own seed, watering cans and weeding. |
