Serving Each Other

In January we held Soup and Scripture, an evening of homemade soup, dwelling in the Word, and the study of God's holy word. During this evening, long time members, new members and friends from the neighborhood joined each other to build friendships, pray for each other and to see how our lives are caught up in the story of God.

We are looking for more ways to find connecting points in our lives so that we are not strangers amongst each other, but people who care and welcome one another.

Serving Our Neighbours

We continue to serve our neighbors at Maple Leaf Public School through our sandwich making ministry. Each week there are kids who forget their lunch or otherwise cannot afford a lunch. Through our sandwich making ministry we provide roughly 20 lunches each week to make sure no child is hungry at lunch time.

With winter here we are anxiously waiting for the time in which we can begin our community garden again. This will be the fourth year we have provided 20 garden plots for our neighbors in the high rise condominiums and apartments. Early March we will explore with our neighbors who wishes to retain their garden plot. Once we have an idea of the number of gardeners, we will then be able to see if other people are interested in growing their own vegetables.

Summer Camp 2012 will be fast approaching. Watch in the spring for an update on this years summer camp for the children in our neighborhood.
